These control valves were used on many Ford and Mercury vehicles over many years. They were a quality piece of equipment but have several ways that they fail. All of these areas are addressed when these units are rebuilt, so you can have years of trouble-free operation after going to the trouble of replacing the one on your car. Please note that the rest of the system should be flushed to remove dirt, rust, moisture, metal shavings, worn fluid, and other contaminants. Failure to do so will result in early failure of a control valve, and can invalidate your warranty. Consider repacing the ram, pump and hoses to start fresh.
When you return your core please drain as much fluid from it as you can. We must ask for a substantial core charge because cores are getting scarce, and other enthusiasts in the future could be out of luck if we don't get your rebuildable core back. The fee will be quickly refunded after it is recieved. Instructions for return come with the new valve.
